A Taste of Japanese Embroidery – Mary Alice Sinton
Zoom Lecture
Description:
Mary Alice Sinton, a certified Japanese Embroidery instructor, will share her passion with CyberPointers in her zoom lecture “A Taste of Japanese Embroidery.” Japanese Embroidery was introduced to the Western world in the early 1980’s with the intent that exposure outside of Japan would help it to survive. Mary Alice studied at the Japanese Embroidery Center in Atlanta and is certified in both embroidery and beading. She will share information about the 10 Phase program incorporating 46 stitches and techniques into the final Phase 10 – Kusudama design. The program is a journey of learning and practicing skills by exploring all 10 phases. Skills taught in the early phases will improve your stitching in any style of embroidery.
