Fun with Geometry: Creating 3D Objects – Karen Anthony
November Meeting Program
Description:
Over the years I have enjoyed experimenting with stitches and threads to create my own designs. As I started running out of wall space for framed pieces, I began exploring 3D objects. I was inspired by Linda Reinmiller’s Geo Ornament published in the May and July issues of Needle Pointers. With my designs, I have enjoyed finding stitches that let me create various motifs. Beginning with my seasonal ornaments published in the May 2013 and March 2014 issues of Needle Pointers, I will show you how to finish your projects in several different shapes (biscornu, cube, prism, and two diamond-type).
This program will be focused on how to create these various shapes. Additionally, I will provide three new designs finished in three different shapes. Lastly, we will discuss how you can take this program and expand to other shapes in the future.
